YAHUKIMO - The Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Wednesday, 10 July 2024, in the context of regional security duties, the Marines Task Forces conducted a patrol by visiting and greeting residents in the Muara Village, Dekai District.
Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, left a message to the Soldiers who would conduct the patrol on that Wednesday, namely the Logpon Post led by First Lieutenant Nico. The message was that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just tend to do it as a routine. The message was immediately answered with the initiative and creativity of the Marines Soldiers in conducting the patrol; by carrying out the Social Communication (Komsos) and distributing milk to the community they met along the patrol route.
By continuing to prioritize the security aspect of the patrol, when they passed by residents, the Soldiers invited them to communicate and were welcomed happily by the residents of Muara. In this Komsos, the Soldiers also distributed milk to be enjoyed by children who accompanied their parents in conducting the daily activities. Feeling treated like a close relative, a Papuan Mother, named Ester Otimuka, said, "Thank you for sharing milk for our children, Bapak Tentara (Soldiers). God bless TNI.”
The KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report, mentioned, "The creativity of the Marines Task Forces in conducting a Patrol with Social Communication in the Muara Village, is a TNI's effort to maintain conducive security to support accelerated development in the Papua region."
